Who do you sit near at the office and why do you like it?
Jt and Saskia and I were a little crew. Was fun, love working alongside Saskia cause she’s a mega talented designer and she has a way of converting ideas into beautiful things which I really enjoy working with and JT is about as easy as they come to get a long with and we’ve been pals since way back when.

DIY renovating your house + home office working = bad idea. Is there any escape from tools and dust and paint? There is not. We have learnt the hard way.

What’s been one of your fave projects to work on?
Projects with a print output are always a treat and working with Stu on the Argyle Place café branding, wayfinding, menus and coffee cups etc was super fun. It turned out so well. We’re just hanging out to enjoy the space from the inside now too!

What does a good day at work look like?
Grabbing a cuppa, getting into the creative flow with no meetings and bouncing ideas off the team.

What are you happiest doing when you're not working?
Getting outside and going for a ride on the bike or catching waves in cold Scottish water.

Being outdoors, taking photos or spending time in the gym listening to a good playlist or podcast.

Working at Daysix is super fun! It's all about being part of a close-knit team where everyone is approachable and friendly. We have regular team activities and outings to keep things lively. Plus, we often get to travel for projects and meet clients, which adds an exciting element to our work. It's worth mentioning that we're a multidisciplinary team, and if you're lucky, you might even get the chance to collaborate with some super cool folks from the design team. It's a great place to be if you enjoy a dynamic and collaborative work environment.

What's your favourite meal of the day and why?
Any one with cheese and ham in it. Because its got cheese and ham in it.

What motivates you at work?
Coffee, and an interesting problem to solve.

Dragging the dog around Arthurs Seat.

What motivates you at work?
I love creating something that tells a story. We learn so much about our clients’ work (from frontline medicine to gin distilling) and it’s fun to figure out the creative ways to tell stories through film.

What is your role at Daysix?
I lead the film team, a fun combination of producing, writing and directing content.
The role involves working closely with clients, pitching for work, drinking lots of coffee, table tennis, re-arranging people’s living rooms to get the perfect interview shot, early starts to shoot sunrise, waiting for the rain to stop… Every week is different and the variety makes it a very stimulating job to do.

What’s been one of your favourite projects to work on?
I had loads of fun filming our Make it happen project this year. Our cast of kids were fantastic and who doesn’t love getting out the leaf blower for those superhero shots?

Who do you sit near at the office and why do you like it?
I don’t like to sit down much but when I do I’m surrounded by the rest of the film team and I like when someone suggests a good spot for lunch

What does a good day at work look like?
A good day is when I’m blitzing through some edits, chilling with my work peeps and chatting with my coffee guy around the corner.

What are you happiest doing when you're not working?
Movies and babycinos, that’s the good life.

What's been one of your favourite projects to work on and why?
‘Forever Edinburgh’, as we’ve had really fun recce days and it’s challenging us to try out some creative new camera techniques for the film.

I’m a teacher of Brazilian Capoeira, so when not working, I’m very happy doing kicks and cartwheels.

What does a good day at work look like?
A good day at work is a day filled with collaboration, creativity and learning new things... and ideally nothing catching on fire.

What motivates you at work?
I love learning new things and talking to interesting people. The greatest part of working in film production is finding yourself in (sometimes totally bizarre) situations that you otherwise would never have encountered. No two days are ever the same. Listening to people tell their stories, learning about new industries and making good things is incredibly rewarding, I feel so lucky to do this for work.

Whats been one of your fave projects to work on?
The Trauma app — to solve that problem we’ve had to really get into the minds of Emergency Department consultants and it’s opened us up to a fascinating world where every decision matters. Very different to coding so nice to see real life and software mix. Plus it’s just a super cool tool.

Playing strategy games with a bunch of good people.

Who do you sit near at the office and why do you like it?
Pre pandemic it was Octav and Ben. It was so good just to throw tricky problems out there and get a discussion going. Really looking forward to having that spontaneous problem solving back again.

WFH listening - whats on your playlist?
Three B’s. Bieber, Bublé and Beyoncé.

What does a good day at work look like?
Little to no meetings and a few deep work sets - its always nice to feel like I've made progress.

I love listening music. I listen to soft music most of the time on work cause I think it increases your focus on work and reduce distractions.

I love travelling and outdoor gardening.

A great team, cool projects and tasks that are neither too easy nor too difficult, but hit that sweet spot of challenging and rewarding. Luckily, I get all of that at Daysix!

Breakfast wins hands down. So many options and basically anything goes. Cereal just makes the world a better place to exist.

What's your working-from-home tip?
Always get out first thing, be it a run, walk or pretentious overpriced coffee. Commutes are underrated.

I sit beside Kirsty and enjoy her easy-going nature and good chat!

What's been one of your favourite projects to work on and why?
One of my favourite projects I worked on was a new website for Edinburgh Children's Hospital Charity. The client was great to work with and the project seemed to run very smoothly. I'm proud of the website we created and the client was really pleased with it too. Since the website project we've worked with ECHC on further web projects, app projects and film projects. It has been fun doing more and more for such a brilliant client.

What are you happiest doing when you're not working?
Things that make me happy are:
Playing with my kids; Ordering a take away or going out for dinner; Watching Scotland play football; Drinking good beer; Playing 8-ball pool; Christmas holidays.

What does a good day at work look like?
Bashing through my to-do list, chatting with the team in the office and lots of cups of tea!

I sit by the door near Daniel, JT, Paula and Stu. It's good because they like to put on their music, so I don't have to worry about them finding out I have terrible music taste... And there is always tea 🙂

Being busy! I usually find I work better when there's a lot to put my mind to.
